FLEET COACHING

A season coaching pass is $300 per sailor, which is for one night of coaching per week during the school terms. It does not cover coaching costs for regattas or any weekend clinics.  Additional performance-oriented coaching may attract additional fees. A discount applies for additional sailors in the same family. 

QCYC has limited boat storage available and priority  is given to sailors in the coaching programme. 

OPTIMIST

Optimist Green and Open Fleet coaching is weekly on a Wednesday Evening between 4pm and 6pm during term time in the sailing season. O'pen Skiff sailors are also welcome at this session.

STARLING

Coaching for Starling sailors occurs weekly on a Thursday evening between 4pm and 6pm during term time in the sailing season. 


LASER

Coaching for Laser sailors occurs weekly on a Friday evening between 4pm and 6pm during term time in the sailing season.  


  1. Always behave in a dignified, honest and sporting manner that brings credit to Queen Charlotte Yacht Club by communicating repectfully, sailing by the rules and being a good sport on and off the water.

  2. Leave the changing rooms better than you found them. You are responsible for leaving them clean, tidy and rubbish free after training and club racing.

  3. Any gear left in the changing rooms will be put into the lost property basket and after 2 months may be donated.

  4. Showers are limited to 5 minutes.

  5. Keep the boat shed and rigging areas tidy and litter free, use the bins provided. 

  6. Wearing sailing gear in the King Salmon Wardroom is not permitted.

  7. Coaching will go ahead unless you have been notified by the coach that it is cancelled.

  8. You must contact the coach by midday through the FB coaching group or by text if you are not attending training that day. This allows the coach to organise additional coaches if required. 

Private Coaching is available on selected Sunday's for clubmembers.  Coaching is available 1-on-1 or in groups of up to 6 sailors.
